THE V SPEECH:
Voila! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished, as the once vital voice of the verisimilitude now venerates what they once vilified. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin, van guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it’s my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

The introduction speech
Now in sight is an old actor, harshly made to play both innocent and guilty by the fluctuation of chance. The mask I wear is no pleasing appearance of self-admiration, it is a relic of the popular opinion, now has gone as the important cry of credibility now cherishes what they once spoke so badly of. But, as that may be, this bold catastrophe of an ancient aggravation starts to arouse, and has promised to get rid of these corrupt and poisonous scum whom lead evil practices and grant the dangerously barbarous and eager disobedience of choice. The single conclusion is revenge; a violent fight viewed as a holy item, not narcissistic, for the profit and credibility of such eventually free from duty the cleaver and the honorable. But admittedly, this concoction of wordy shifts, this remarkably chatty face-to-face is an opening, and so it is my most amazing favor to meet you, and you may call me V.
THE REASON BEHIND THE MASK:
The V for Vendetta mask is based off a man whose name was Guy Fawkes. In 1606 he and a small group of Roman Catholics came up with a plan to blow up the parliament building as a way to kill King James I. However, Fawkes was caught in a cellar with 36 barrels of gunpowder getting him and the others tortured and killed. Now, as it stands, the Guy Fawkes mask is used as an anarchy symbol for many rebels. In V for Vendetta, the mask is used by V, a disguised terrorist who wears the mask while rebelling against a dictating tyrannical society. The reason behind the mask is that Guy Fawkes was going against the state for what he believed in, and V is doing the same. V uses it as a way of hiding his face not in shame but in remembrance of the mayhem that could have occurred. Also it is ironic that V is going against the United Kingdom's society using the mask that gruesomely resembles such an evil figure of history. Finally the history of the mask relates back to the V Speech because V is talking about how the mask is used to represent the event that occurred on the fifth of November. V talks about how the mask is represented as both villain and victim as, in a way, Guy Fawkes was. Just as V talks about "vanquishing these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice" in his speech, Guy Fawkes was trying to get rid of parliament because he wanted to get rid of the people he thought were corrupt. So in many ways Guy Fawkes influences V in the sense that they both are up against society due to something they feel very strongly about.
